Messing About!
Decided that I was going to start blogging again! I think it will help to keep me focused on music. I need some focus and goals to work toward, instead of aimlessly making music. So I decided that I am going to work on three projects. One is an album with a local Brooklyn reggae artist named Trinity, one is a dubstep album, and the other is a free beat album for download.
The project with Trinity has been going well, I believe that the album will make some noise and create some excitement. Trinity has a very strong and authentic voice that is perfect for reggae. His voice is raspy and sounds like the voice of an old rastaman who lives in the hills of St. Anns, Jamaica (he is not a rasta and he is not from Jamaica). With that said, there are a few hurdles that we have get over, but I believe both he and I will become better artists when the album is done. We are both learning about mixing, recording, songwriting, proper lyrical delivery, and other things. For him it’s really about giving the proper delivery of lyrics and fitting his songs into a commercialstructure and for me it’s about reminding him about those things and also trying to creating backing tracks that compliment his voice, style and lyrics. It has been a lot of fun so far, and I find that I am working on music a lot more and also branching out into writing complete songs, instead of just making a beat. On thing that came as a surprise is that he liked some of my pop beats and is going to write some songs to the beats. I think that it will definetly help him appeal to a wider audience.
As for the dubstep album, I don’t have any tracks yet but I know I want the theme of the album to be dark and somber.
The free beat album is coming along, I have one track so far and hope to add nine more. I am not sure about how to promote it yet, but will let you guys know when the time comes.

Wonder if this is the same Trinity from Florida??? Good artist still.
